Alaska wildlife officials deployed a black bear decoy on a relatively remote part of Prince of Wales Island near Klawock over the last month. They then observed a 40-year-old man from Massachusetts shoot at the decoy from a nearby road.
The man was then cited for illegally attempting to take a black bear by discharging a firearm from a roadway. His bail was set at $300 in district court.
