Wyoming Game & Fish euthanized a young male black bear, estimated to be about four years-old and 150-pounds. The bear had a history of trouble after it was caught it near downtown Cody earlier this week.
The Wyoming G&F stated that after having reviewed the bear's history, they determined he was not a good candidate for another relocation, so was humanely euthanized by lethal injection. The bear previously had run-ins in Meeteetse and Crandall, Wyoming. The hide and skull will be kept by the Shoshone Forest for educational purposes.
In other bear-related news, Wyoming G&F on Sunday trapped and relocated an adult female grizzly after it killed a calf on a grazing allotment in the Bridger-Teton Forest. The bear was released in the Mormon Creek drainage on the North Fork west of Cody.
