New York Sets 2012 Bear Season Dates

New York DEC, Bear Hunting Magazine

New York state officials have made some changes to deer and bear hunting seasons in New York for the 2012 season.

The new rules will adjust bear hunting seasons to stay concurrent with deer seasons and allow deer management permits, often called doe tags, to be used in all seasons in the Northern Zone.

Among other changes, officials will adjust the northern zone season dates by opening the regular season for 44 days, beginning on the second Saturday after Columbus Day.

Other changes around the state will give bow hunters more time to hunt. To view the entire list of season dates visit the New York DEC website here.
