Motorcyclist Collides With Bear In TNTN Wildlife Resource Agency, Bear Hunting Magazine
A man from Pickens, South Carolina received five broken ribs and a punctured lung after a black bear ran in front of his motorcycle as he rode last week on Interstate 40 in Cocke County, Tennessee.
A Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper reported that the collision occurred near the 441 mile marker between Newport and Hartsford. The bear, which was estimated at around one-year of age and weighed about 75 pounds, died on impact.
The man has since been released from the hospital. Personnel with Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency took possession of the bear's body.
