Arizona Bear Cub Found Eating Cake

Arizona Game and Fish Department, Bear Hunting Magazine

A black bear cub entered an Arizona home last week through an open window. The bear was found eating a chocolate cake in the kitchen by the home owners when they were awaken to the noise.

Arizona wildlife officials captured the bear and it has been sent to a local zoo in Prescott since no adult bear was found in the area to release the cub back to. Authorities are calling 2012 a difficult year for southeast Arizona bears due to wildfires and drought.

Arizona officials remind residents on their Facebook page in response to this cub being captured; "Remember: Bears have an incredibly keen sense of smell even from long distances and human food is very attractive to them!"
