The New Hampshire State Police released a statement today regarding a 24-year-old motorist that died after swerving to avoid a bear that had been struck and killed by another vehicle on Interstate 89 in Hopkinton.
A pickup truck traveling north early Tuesday first hit the black bear just before Exit 5. The driver of a Subaru station wagon swerved to avoid the bear’s body and ended up in the median, where the car landed on its passenger side. The driver was taken to Concord Hospital where he died from his injuries.
