Wisconsin DNR, Bear Hunting Magazine

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) released information regarding the 2012 bear harvest in their state. It shows that this year was the second-highest on record.

Hunters registered 4,400 black bears during the season which is only behind the 5,133 that was harvested in 2010. Hunters in the state brought home 4,257 bruins last year.

The Wisconsin DNR reminds hunters that they have until midnight on December 10, 2012 to apply for a harvest permit for the 2013 state bear hunting season or for a preference point for future year.
