Florida Requests Restitution For Bear SearchFlorida Fish & Wildlife Division, Bear Hunting Magazine
We brought you the original story about a bear cub that escaped from a Florida captive wildlife facility back in January. You can see the original News Flash here.
Now, the Florida Fish and Wildlife is requesting $5,819.39 in restitution from the Collier County facility, "A Grizzly Experience," after a three-day hunt for the escaped bear. The owner of the facility is facing charges of allowing captive wildlife to escape and improper caging requirements. Officials state that the facility did not secure the first gate to the double door entrance before they opened the primary cage of the bear. If found guilty, the owner of the facility will be required to pay for the cost involved with the search which is the $5,819.39 amount listed above.
