Montana Grizzly Euthanized After Killing SheepMontana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Dept. (FWP), Bear Hunting Magazine
A three year-old, 200-pound male grizzly was euthanized by the Montana FWP state wildlife lab in Bozeman earlier this week after being captured on Monday. The bear was captured on private land north of Red Lodge after two separate incidents of depredation occurred late last week.
Last Thursday, the grizzly killed a sheep, then returned two days later and killed seven more and wounded two others. The Montana FWP investigated the incidents and found the grizzly had been within the confines of corrals and in close proximity to buildings.
This was the third time this particular grizzly bear had been captured. It was first captured and moved 2011 and then again in 2012.
