A Delta flight crew has joined a Kennesaw, GA family in saying goodbye to their 10-year-old boy. Jonathan Kerr died from liver cancer complications while flying home from his final wish.

"When we told him he had cancer, he said am I going to die?" recalls Jonathan's mother, Shelia Kerr. "And I said yes, that's possible, and he said that's OK. I'm ready."

Kerr knew he was losing his battle with liver cancer and told his parents he was ready to go to heaven.

He wanted one last adventure; he wanted to go bear hunting. Two weeks ago, Safari Club International made that last wish possible. In the thick Canadian woods, Kerr got his bear.

On their way home June 7, just 40 minutes outside of Atlanta, Kerr died. The crew of the plane Kerr was on when he passed away attended his funeral Sunday at Kennesaw First Baptist Church.

Kerr is survived by his parents and two older brothers.
