New for 2008: Amphibious ARGO 6x6 FRONTIER 650 and ARGO 8x8 AVENGER 750 EFI for Fishing and Hunting
It's only natural that hunters and anglers know the value of ruggedness and versatility. More often than not, their passion takes them to places others can only dream of.
Serious outdoors people need an off-road vehicle that can get them and their friends reliably to their favourite hunting grounds or fishing hole - and back again with their prize catches - time and time again.
The launch of the 2008 ARGO 8x8 AVENGER 750 EFI and ARGO 6x6 FRONTIER 650 is the sportsman's dream come true: Two outstanding amphibious, multi-passenger off-road vehicles that combine comfort and ruggedness with innovative and unique features.
Exploring Beyond All Expectations
Great design, durability, and off-road versatility are ARGO traditions. The 2008 ARGO 6x6 FRONTIER 650 is turning the world of utility terrain vehicles inside out. Go ahead and experience a new sense of style and adventure. With its innovative body design and outstanding technological features, the Frontier is a must-see. The all-wheel drive ARGO 6x6 Frontier 650 is equipped with a 4-cycle overhead valve V-Twin air cooled 627 cc 23 hp Briggs & Stratton engine, carries up to four passengers, has a load capacity of up to 700 lbs. and can tow 1,400 lbs.
Its new dashboard is ergonomically designed and includes a one-piece handle bar steering system, cup holders, 12 V outlet, two dash mounted grab handles and all you need to navigate through challenging terrain. In addition, the 2008 ARGO 6x6 Frontier 650 is built with a long wheelbase for greater stability and comfort and offers vented hydraulic disc brakes, an emergency/parking brake, a 20/50 amp electrical charging system and a state-of-the-art automatic continuously variable transmission complete with high & low range, and reverse. The battery is conveniently located under the hinged bench seat that has a deep storage compartment / toolbox for easy access.
The all season ARGO 6x6 Frontier 650 upper body and hood design features new stylish dual hood latches for added security as well as a low step-over for ease of entry/exit. The seating has extra padding and provides lots of legroom. The ARGO 6x6 Frontier 650's lower body has enough room for tracks to fit over the standard tires. The custom designed 24" ARGO tires sport a special ARGO tread design for excellent performance on both land and water, and provide 9" of ground clearance. These exclusive low-weight tires, featuring increased tread thickness for longer tread life, are mounted on 8" diameter rims resulting in a smooth ride, even through rough terrain. Their low ground pressure minimizes the environmental footprint of the vehicle and protects the outdoors that Frontier owners care about.
The Ultimate 8x8 Off-Road Vehicle
The 2008 8x8 AVENGER 750 EFI is the leading lightweight 8x8 available today and offers even more value than other top-of-the-line UTVs. The 2008 8x8 AVENGER 750 EFI outperforms trucks as well as other utility terrain vehicles in demanding off-road situations. Driven by a powerful 31hp 748cc electronic fuel-injected Kohler LH 775 engine, the 2008 8x8 Avenger 750 EFI is just what many ARGO customers and prospective ARGO owners have been waiting for.
The 2008 8x8 Avenger 750 EFI's low emission rate meets both EPA and CARB standards. Its technological advances include an effective throttle response for smooth acceleration, improved fuel economy, reliable cold weather starting, and excellent performance in high altitudes. The fuel delivery system also manages itself without a manual choke control. New on-board diagnostics ensure peace of mind and ease of maintenance.
The top-of-the-line 8x8 ARGO features 25" Rawhide III tires with an aggressive tread pattern and lug size, hydraulic vented disk brakes, a new emergency/parking brake, as well as excellent approach and departure angles allowing easy travel over difficult obstacles. The ARGO 8x8 Avenger is available with an optional 3.3 high ratio transmission for optimum performance with rubber tracks, seats up to six persons on land, has a load capacity of 1150 lbs. and can tow 1800 lbs.
Also available are the smaller, but still powerful ARGO 6x6 Frontier 480 and 580 as well as the ARGO 8x8 Frontier 650 and ARGO 8x8 Avenger 700. These vehicles are perfect for the off-road enthusiast who would like to experience an alternative to the top-of-the-line model.
All ARGO models are available in a range of attractive colors: tundra, blue, yellow, red, and black, as well as Mossy Oak Shadow Branch Camo and Jordan Advantage Wetlands Camo.
The ARGO product line is designed for recreational and light commercial use, including hunting and fishing, family fun, utility construction and maintenance, resource exploration, agriculture, forestry, as well as firefighting and search and rescue operations. This versatile all-season workhorse can also be adapted to suit a remarkably wide range of custom applications.
Every ARGO is backed by decades of experience in the design and manufacture of amphibious off-road vehicles. Ontario Drive & Gear introduced the world-famous amphibious ARGO in 1967. Since then, ODG has produced more lightweight amphibious vehicles than any other manufacturer in the world.
