Maryland Men Charged With Illegal Baiting

Two Cumberland, MD men have been charged with baiting a black bear while they were hunting on private property on Dan's Mountain near Lonaconing in Western Maryland, according to the Maryland Natural Resources Police.
The men were charged last week with hunting black bear by baiting them with doughnuts and shelled corn. It is illegal to hunt black bears with bait in the state of Maryland. The maximum penalty for baiting is $1,500.00.
