Cabela's Sales Jump In First Quarter

Outdoor retailer Cabela's Inc. reported an 8.2 percent increase in first-quarter same-store sales, or sales at stores open for at least one year.
"For the quarter, we realized very strong performance in our hunting equipment category, which is being led by strength in firearms and ammunition," Cabela's President and CEO Tommy Millner said during the company's earnings call. "We believe this is a sustainable trend that we expect to continue into the second half of 2009."
