A California man survived a bear attack over the weekend. Eric Huff was bow-hunting near Hayfork, California when he came across a 370-pound black bear and shot it twice.

Huff was hunting on private property and was part of a party of four that was legally hunting with the proper tag and license.

He went to shoot the bear at close range, but ran out of arrows. The bear then jumped up and bit Huff on the arm. Huff has been treated and released from a hospital.

A Fish and Game warden tracked down the bear and euthanized it. The bear was sent to a butcher shop to be processed, but its head and paws have been kept as evidence at this time.
