DNR Shoots Bear In Minnesota Suburb

The black bear made its way up in a tree in a residential area located near 13th Avenue East and Margaret Street North in North St. Paul, a suburb of St. Paul, Friday afternoon.

Once DNR officer arrived on the scene, they shot bean bags at the bear to try to extract it from the tree.

The bear finally came down the tree but the bear began to flee between two houses posing a public safety concern. DNR officers then fired two shots killing the bear.

The bear was about 120 pounds according to the North St. Paul, Minnesota police chief.
