An almost 350-pound black bear injured a hunter this past Saturday in Clinch County, Georgia. The man was in a group of experienced hound hunters looking for bear. When the group came upon the bear, one hunter shot it twice with a 12-gauge shotgun. The shots stopped the bear, but did not kill it. While the bear tried to run away, it ran directly into the man, knocking him to the ground and biting him several times.

A spokesman for the Georgia DNR stated that the 54-year-old Florida man received several bite injuries to his right wrist, arm, chest and pelvic area and had to be airlifted to a hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.
